An e-car can be charged in many places - not only in the garage at home or at the fast-charging station. Porsche customers in particular benefit from a wide range of products.
Charging at home (home charging)
The so-called home charging is the most convenient and cheapest way to charge. You don't have to drive to the charging station (or to the gas station as with a combustion engine) or pay manually. Arrive, plug in, dinner.
Porsche's home charging solution: the Porsche Mobile Charger Connect. Using wallboxes, which are also available from Porsche, the charger can also be mounted on the wall. At the blue CEE16 industrial sockets, it enables up to 11 kilowatts of charging power – more than enough for overnight charging. At the red CEE32 sockets, 22 kW are possible.

Another advantage of home charging: full cost control for electricity. In addition, there are no fees such as for public parking. It is also often even cheaper to charge at night. Or you can get your charging power directly from the in-house photovoltaic system.
To optimise home charging, Porsche offers the Porsche Home Energy Manager – in addition to professional installation. The additional hardware for the home electrics helps to optimise power consumption and supports the Porsche Mobile Charger Connect with intelligent charging with additional functions.

Charging on the go
For public charging, the Porsche Charging Service is particularly recommended. It includes everything it takes to charge a Porsche on the road: a huge network of charging points, a uniform electricity price, discounts and payment. The service provides customers with almost 600,000 charging points throughout Europe.
In addition to the Porsche Charging Service, the so-called Mode 3 charging cable, which is often located under the trunk floor, is also important for the road. It should always remain in the vehicle, even if it is rarely used. Many public charging stations do not have a charging cable – then their own is used.
Don't forget: The Mode 3 charging cable is important for public charging stations without cables.
Charging stations and charging pointsThe charging stations of the Porsche Charging Service result in many more charging points. Because: A charging station can mean several charging points. The charging plugs are counted as charging points. So if a charging station has two charging plugs for two vehicles, then this charging station counts two charging points. Nevertheless, the terms are sometimes used synonymously.
Charging at Ionity
Ionity, a joint venture with the participation of Porsche, is one of the leading providers of fast charging stations. Fast charging stations are particularly suitable when travelling and on longer journeys to keep charging times short. At the so-called High Power Chargers, which offer charging capacities of up to 350 kW, the advantage of the Porsche Taycan with its 800-volt on-board electrical system comes into its own. The first-generation facelift, which will be available from 2024, can call up up to 320 kW on an Ionity charger. The battery charge level rises from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes.
When using the Porsche Charging Service, charging at Ionity is particularly affordable: the electricity price is then only 37 centimes per kilowatt hour. Variable user fees such as for parking during the charging process
Charging at Porsche Centres (Porsche Turbo Charging)
Proverbial turbocharging for Porsche's electric sports cars is offered by so-called Porsche Turbo Charging. The chargers, which also have up to 350 kW output, are located at numerous Porsche Centres around the world. In addition to Ionity and other providers, they represent another option for fast charging. One advantage: During the charging process, you can relax in the Porsche Centre – for example with a cup of coffee.

Charging at the exclusive Porsche Charging Lounge
You can also relax in a "Porsche Charging Lounge". The first and so far only one of its kind is located at the Nahetal motorway junction near Bingen in Germany, but Porsche is also planning such a lounge for Switzerland. The concept pursues a brand-appropriate charging experience on busy traffic routes: Six fast-charging stations are available in the covered outdoor area, while a modern toilet and lounge with coffee, snacks and music provide a pleasant stay inside. The Porsche Charging Lounge is aimed exclusively at drivers of Porsche sports cars.

Charging at the destination (Porsche Destination Charging)
"Porsche Destination Charging" offers a special service: Here, drivers of a fully or partially electric Porsche sports car charge free of charge. The charging points are located worldwide at selected hotels, airports, shopping malls, marinas and race tracks, among others. The charging stations of the Porsche Destination Charging can be found via the "Porsche Charge Map" function in the My Porsche app.
In addition to public charging stations and Porsche Destination Charging, the Porsche Mobile Charger Connect can also be used for charging at the destination. For example, with friends or relatives who have a suitable power connection. This can be particularly practical in less developed areas.
